What are porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that are permanently affixed to the front of each tooth. Once they are put into place, veneers look exactly like natural teeth—but better! Dental veneers can help solve a variety of dental issues, including chipped teeth, gaps, discoloration, and minor bite issues.
At Nashville Center for Aesthetic Dentistry, we offer our patients a couple of options regarding dental veneers: standard porcelain veneers or DuraThin veneers. Standard dental veneers are permanent and require some tooth removal in order to place them. DuraThin veneers, invented by our own Dr. Dennis Wells, are a type of dental veneer that requires no removal of tooth enamel in order to place them. We often recommend this option for patients who have had teeth removed in the past for orthodontic reasons.
