Procedures for Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain Veneers
Veneers are thin layers of porcelain, which are custom-made to adhere to the
front of natural teeth, thus enhancing the appearance of the smile. Skillfully
designed veneers can remove many types of compromises in the smile, including
misalignment, spaces, dark colors, chipped or worn teeth, and improper length.
The process of smile design can most times be completed in just a few short
weeks. After a comprehensive diagnostic review of your smile and your goals, we
begin the process with preparation of the surfaces of the teeth, and designing
your prototypes. These prototypes will allow you to preview the new design and
you will leave our office with your new smile. With your approval, we will send
photographs of the prototypes to our ceramist who will use this information as a
blueprint in designing the veneers.
After wearing the prototypes a couple weeks, we will receive the custom-designed
porcelain from our ceramist. The final phase is the bonding procedure, a detailed
and time-intensive process which results in the veneers being fused to the front of
your teeth. Time to celebrate! You now have the smile you've always dreamed of.
Brief post-operative visits will assure us that everything has healed properly and
your smile looks great!
