Nashville Cosmetic Dentistry

Wednesday, June 15th, 2011

Do you wish you could change something about your smile? If so, cosmetic dentistry may have the answer for you. Cosmetic dentistry is a branch of dentistry that emphasizes aesthetics. While strong, healthy teeth are necessary for chewing and talking, they also play an integral role in your appearance. In our Nashville, Tennessee cosmetic dental office, many patients find that enhancing their smile with cosmetic dentistry techniques boosts their self esteem and improves their social and career opportunities.

At the Nashville Center for Aesthetic Dentistry, we offer a wide range of cosmetic dental treatments to straighten, whiten, and reshape your smile. A teeth whitening is a quick and easy way to add an extra sparkle to an already straight smile. DURAthin veneers or traditional porcelain veneers can cover up misshaped, discolored, or damaged teeth with minimal or no removal of tooth enamel. Dental crowns or dental implants can be used to replace missing or broken teeth.

Cosmetic dentist Dr. Dennis Wells has over 25 years of experience with cosmetic smile design. With his expertise, he can help you decide which cosmetic dentistry procedures would work best with your teeth to give you a smile you will love.

Affordable Teeth Whitening?

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

Affordable Nashville Tooth Whitening If you are like most web users, you have probably seen the multitude of ads for ‘free teeth whitening kits’.

Some show a ‘real Tennessee mom’ who discovered a ‘tooth whitening secret’. Others assure you that their system is the one that ‘Oak Hill dentists don’t want you to know about’. Many contain a link to a page that contains a convincing Knoxville tooth whitening testimonial. They bolster their legitimacy by aligning themselves with respected companies such as CNN, USA Today and Forbes.

Unfortunately, most of these are rip-offs and don’t come from trusted cosmetic dentistry offices. In a recent article, the Better Business Bureau explains the scam:

The countless Web sites for various teeth whitening products claim to offer a no-risk, money back guarantee, free trial of the product. To sign up, customers must provide a credit or debit card number to cover shipping. Complainants to BBB state that they are billed before their trial ends and continue to be billed after they have told the company they want to cancel.

Complainants also may find mystery charges for other companies and services that they didn’t realize they were signing up for with their ‘free’ trial.

The BBB has received complaints about the following company/product names:

  • Dazzle White
  • White Smile
  • Teeth Smile
  • Dazzle Smile
  • Ivory White
  • Max White
  • My Whitening
  • Gleaming White Smile
  • Advanced Wellness Research

Don’t trust your smile to an internet scammer. Your Nashville tooth whitening dental office is the only place for safe teeth bleaching. You don’t want to take a chance with your credit card number or your tooth enamel! Call us at Nashville Center for Aesthetic Dentistry for advanced cosmetic dental services and worry-free tooth whitening. You can reach us at (615) 866-5151

Porcelain Veneers

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

Porcelain Veneers With porcelain veneers, you can revamp your smile without significant restorative dental work.

Porcelain veneers are glass-like, wafer-thin covers that are attached to the front of your teeth. Porcelain has been used in dentistry for many years because no other restorative material is such an excellent match for natural tooth enamel. Porcelain is translucent and can be matched to the color of any tooth. It is stronger than enamel and resists stains. Dental ceramists who fabricate porcelain veneers are both artists and technicians. They create beautiful paper-thin wafers that adhere to teeth, correcting chips and stains. Porcelain veneers can also straighten crooked teeth for patients who don’t need orthodontic work.

Patients who receive porcelain veneers appreciate the less-invasive process of enhancing their smile. Newer techniques require no removal of healthy tooth enamel.

We would be happy to show you what veneers can do for your smile.

Give Me Some Air

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

Air Abrasion Dentists How long have dentists been drilling teeth? Would you believe 9,000 years? In an ancient graveyard in Pakistan, archaeologists unearthed skulls containing teeth that had undergone drilling. The stone-age dentists removed decay using drills constructed of sharpened flint.

Though advanced dentistry would not be possible without drilling, the sound of a dental drill can make many Brentwood patient’s hearts pound. However, there is another way your Oak Hill cosmetic dentists can remove decay. This technique is known as air abrasion or drill-less dentistry. An air abrasion instrument removes material by spraying tiny aluminum oxide particles onto the tooth. The particles work like a sandblaster spraying away the affected tooth structure.

The many advantages of air abrasion make it a popular procedure for Knoxville dentists. Because air abrasion is usually pain free, the need for anesthesia is reduced. The air abrasion instrument does not create vibrations or pressure. Nashville cosmetic dentistry patients appreciate the fact that air abrasion instruments don’t produce that whiny drill sound that rings in your ears and makes your palms sweat. Because of this, air abrasion can be a less-frightening option for young Tennessee dentistry patients. Air abrasion is often quicker and more precise than traditional drilling, leaving more of the healthy tooth intact.

At Nashville Center for Aesthetic Dentistry, we provide anxiety-free dentistry. If you would like to learn more about air abrasion, cosmetic dentistry or tooth implant cost, call us at (615) 866-5151. We are located at 105 Powell Court, Suite 101, Brentwood, TN in Brentwood. The experienced and professional staff at Nashville Center for Aesthetic Dentistry is dedicated to your comfort and satisfaction.

Nashville Prepless Veneers

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

One of the latest breakthroughs in Nashville cosmetic dentistry is prepless veneers. Though thousands of Brentwood, Forest Hills, and Oak Hill smile restoration clients who have received traditional veneers are happy with the results, some Tennessee dental patients have delayed this procedure because they do not want to lose healthy tooth structure.

Brentwood prepless veneers are a less-invasive procedure for transforming Brentwood smiles. New DURAthin prepless veneers are incredibly thin shells which adhere to the face of teeth and require no removal of tooth enamel. Most Brentwood prepless veneers are about the thickness of two pieces of paper. Because the color is built into the veneers (instead of being applied after fabrication), they look like your natural teeth–only better!

Our experienced Tennessee ceramists are skilled artists. They create each custom Brentwood dental veneer with the optimum shape, color and thickness for your new smile. Another great feature of the Dr. Wells prepless veneers application procedure is that it requires no anesthesia or drilling.

If you are embarrassed by misaligned, discolored or broken teeth, prepless veneers may be a Tennessee smile restoration solution that you can feel good about.

Call Dennis Wells, DDS to learn more about prepless dental veneers. It is the first step toward your dazzling new smile!
