When some dentists begin the smile design process, they place temporary materials on the teeth while the porcelain veneers or crowns are being made. These temporaries are usually made from a pattern developed in a dental lab on stone models.
We do it differently. Dr. Wells will artistically hand-sculpt a tooth-colored material onto your teeth, designing the specific contours, sizes, lengths, and contours of your new smile. This allows you to “test-drive” the new smile and approve the design in a prototype phase before we even send it to our dental lab. After we all approve the design, photos and impression of the prototypes are sent to the lab as a blueprint for the custom-crafted porcelain restorations.
